Do you wish to finance your home?
For a lot of people, securing the mortgage loan can be one of the most distressing parts of buying a house. But it doesn't have to be. I have close professional relationships with some reputable mortgage lenders in OKC, and they've helped me realize some things that will make the loan application process very easy.
1 – Compose a list of questions regarding your loan program
Make sure to bring a list of questions if you do not completely comprehend the pros and cons of all the different loan programs. I or one of my trusted lenders will help you understand the advantages and disadvantages of each one, because it is a challenge to understand the distinctions between both fixed and adjustable rate mortgages.
2 – Determine when you want to lock
When you lock in the rate, it denotes that the lender commits to the mortgage interest rates for the loan – most often at the time the loan application is sent in. By floating the rate, you can lock the rate at any time between the loan application day and the issuing of closing documents. Those who prefer to float conclude the interest rates will drop in the near future. Click here to see the outlook for the next 90 days of interest rates.
3 – Determine if you want to pay additional points to reduce your interest rate
Typically you can choose to pay additional points to lower the rate of your mortgage loan. Each point is 1 percent of the loan and is payable in cash at closing. If you're unsure as to whether or not buying points is the best option for you, click here to use our points calculator.
4 – Bring your paperwork
Acquiring a loan requires lots of paperwork, so you should take some time to get your documents together. Click here to preview typical information that goes on a loan application.
